Hello. I am looking into building a computer, and I was wondering if I should spend money to get an ASUS Sabertooth X79 LGA 2011 Intel X79 and i7-3930K, or an ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155 with a i5-3570K.

Is it worth it to get the 2011 board? Is the 2011 board better for preparing for future upgrades? Should I get the 1155 board and upgrade to an i7 later? Sorry for all of the questions. Thanks in advance!

get the lga1155 platform. The x79 is only meant for ppl who are into extreme rendering and video editing. The LGA1155 with a 3770k will perform as well as an lga2011 board with a 3930k except in highly threaded tasks.

If gaming is the only rig-demanding thing you plan on using your computer for then i suggest a the Asus P8Z77-V Pro mobo and i5 3570k (exactly what im using myself).
