Hi
I'll be upgrading soon to an i7 but can't choose which one.
Sandy bridge is great, but should I wait for ivy bridge. Is the quad channel memory
really worth it. Any performance boost from dual channel. And is pci-e 3.0 any faster.
Also, should I wait for the new Nvidia cards or would the current ones be sufficient
Thanks

What are you going to do? Just get a board that supports ivybridge and has pcie 3.0. Then grab an i5-2500k and do some good oc on it and later on grab the i7-3770k.

Get an i5-2500K and Z68 motherboard. And you're good to go.

ivy is just around the corner, whats up with you people, once you are satisfied with your current setup for a while longer, wait for ivy and get a board that will not need a bios update that will have a 7 series chipset

PCIE 3.0 and QC memory are not real benefits, its like having 8 cars on a 24 lane highway

That's why I suggesed him to get Z68 motherboard.

Thats all well, but does the Z68 support pci-e 3.0 and quad channel memory

Z68 I think didn't have the feature but it support Ivy Bridge CPU. But, if you want to use that feature, you might want to wait a little more.

z68 boards have pcie 3.0, but quad channel memory is on x79.
