Hello everyone, I am in need of your expert advice on building my teenage kids a Gaming Rig..Mostly they play Amnesia, minecraft and produce videos with sony vegas. They currently use my ASUS G51 laptop and its accumulating alot of apps and games that are slowing down the system.

Approximate Purchase Date: Nov or before Xmas

Budget Range: under $600

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, movies, video production

Parts Not Required: Windows7,monitor(samsung P2370hd),keyboard &mouse, case kinda??

I actually have this case but should I get a different one?

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg

Country of Origin: USA

Overclocking: maybe not

SLI or Crossfire: maybe not

Monitor Resolution:

Additional Comments: OC or SLI might not be necessary but I would like for it to last them atleast 2-3yrs before I have to upgrade the parts again. Also are all these parts compatible and will it fit the case? I just want to make sure the PSU will fit and MOBO and GPU...

This is what I have so far on newegg...Please feel free to suggest other combo if needed. Thanks

Don't use an i3-2100 for a gaming system, that's more for low budget workstation builds, and that sort of thing. Check out this configuration. It's a little bit more but it'll last you quite a long time:

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX600 - $69.99
Motherboard: Asrock Z68 Extreme 3 - $124.99
CPU: 3.30 GHz Intel Core i5-2500K - $219.99
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus - $25.99
RAM: Kingston Hyper X Blu 1600MHz RAM 1.5V - $49.99
HD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB - $79.99
Optical: Lite On 24X DVD Burner - $22.99
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6770 - $114.99

Total: $686
