Hello,
I lost internet on new desktop (4 wks) win 7 gigabyte ga-x58a-ud3r. Network adaptor is no longer in the menu of device manager. IPconfig says no device. WinIE says no network adapter is properly installed. Gigabyte owner's disk does not provide the option of reinstalling the network adapter. Cable connection is tight. Router works with laptop.

What next?
Jim

Look for a driver on the adapter's or motherboard maker's website. These days almost all component drivers are via the chipset so you may need to reload the whole chipset pack.

If no joy, a PCI network adapter is very cheap to buy and that may prove more time effcient than trying to restore the onboard one.
