Evening all,

I have just build a new gaming rig of the following specs:

1 x Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Unlocked Processor
1 x 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 3.5" SATA III Hard Drive
2 x 8GB Corsair Vengeance Blue LP (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz 1.5v Dual Channel Kit - CML8GX3M2A1600C9B
1 x ASUS P8Z68-V PRO/GEN3 Intel Z68 (REV B3) Socket 1155 DDR3 PCI-Express Motherboard
1 x Corsair H60 Water-Cooling CPU Cooler
1 x NZXT Phantom V2 White Full Tower Chassis w/ USB3.0
1 x 1050W Corsair HX Series 80PLUS Silver Modular Power Supply
1 x Corsair Force Series 3 V2 120GB 2.5" SATA-III Solid State Hard Drive
1 x GeForce GTX 580 3072MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

It runs just fine under normal use, but when ever I put it under load (gaming or stress testing with prime95) the pc shuts down without warning.

I should note that I know very little about hardware and only just enough to put this thing together. The cpu is unlocked. Do I somehow need to set a clock speed in the BIOS for it? Although it's an unlocked cpu, I am not bothered about overclocking it (yes I should have bought the stock 2600)...

I have done some reading here and a number of people with similar issues came down to voltage problems, but I have no idea how to check these things.

Any help for a hardware noob gratefully received.

Temps were between 65/72 degrees across the cores. Thermal status said OK to all of them, GPU temp was at 35 degrees during the stress test.
