Will you be doing any gaming? You don't need a powerful raphics card for neither of those uses you listed, you could get away with even the intel onboard for that( which is actually quite decent). OK, my biggest hangup is installing the OS and getting all the BIOS stuff correct. Anything specific to look out for with hooking up and installing to the SSD?

Some people recommend disabling pagefile for SSD's from windows( to increase lifespan of the drive) though it's not really necessary.

Just make sure you set your storage driver to AHCI( from the BIOS) before installing windows so you can get the maximum performance out of the SSD.


I'd also recommend waiting till HDD prices normalize before purchasing one, I grabbed a 1tb drive a few months ago for $60, not it's $140 due to the thailand floods
