Hey guys, so this will be my first build and i needed some help completing it, so far i have:

CPU: Intel Core i5-2400

Motherboard:
MSI P67A-G45 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

GPU:
MSI N560GTX-M2D1GD5 GeForce GTX 560 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

RAM: Kingston HyperX Blu 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

HDD:
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKX 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I need some help deciding on both a case and a power supply(mid-range price), as i don't really have any experience in these two areas. Also, as i said this is my first build, and I believe everything is compatible, however if you spot any potential problems please point them out.

Buy a 600w or 650w Bronze certified PSU. Antec, Corsair...

I guess I hadn't noticed the SPIKE in HDD prices but that price seeems High.
Try to get a 560 Ti
Antec 300 case work s well but most mid-tower cases in the $60-$100 range will be fine. Note the no. of fans you get and where they are located. I'm a firm believer in top ventilaton.

Sandy Bridge's memory controller prefers RAM with voltages at 1.5V, certainly below 1.65V.
Patriot Signature 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) CAS9 1.5V PSD38G1600KH $45 ($10 rebate)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Antec Earthwatts Green EA-650 80Plus Bronze $52
http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=59339&vpn=EA650Green&m...
Doesn't come with a power cord so you will either need to already have one to use or buy one.

This is at a pretty good, especially after rebate:
XFX Pro 650W Core Edition 80Plus Bronze $80 ($30 rebate)
http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=59616&vpn=P1650SNLB9&m...
And has enough hardwired connectors to power a build with two GTX 560s.

A popular 'budget' case:
Cooler Master HAF 912 $60 ($6 shipping)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Rosewill Challenger U3 $60 ($5 shipping)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Lian Li Lancool PC-K57 $60
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Not much can be done about the high HDD prices, except wait and hope recovery from flooding in Thailand is speedy.
