  2. Approximate Purchase Date: November 2011

    Budget Range: $1000-1100

System Usage from Most to Least Important:Gaming, Movies, Surfing

Parts Not Required: Keyboard, Mouse, OS and Monitor

    Preferred Website(s) for Parts:Newegg

    Country of Origin: US

Parts Preferences: I was thinking more of an AMD style but whatever is best would be nice

    Overclocking: Yes

    SLI or Crossfire: Yes; SLI

    Monitor Resolution:1920 x 1080
  3. You're not gonna get an overclocking SLI system for one thousand dollars. Up your budget at least a couple of hundred.
  4. at this price tag you can either let overclocking go and aim for the i3 2100 with a decent gen3 mobo letting you upgrade to ivy+pci-e gpu in the future with a couple of 6850 or 6870 to start with (or 460 if you prefer nvidia). In this case you aim for a 750-850 watt quality psu just to be sure. 4-8giga of ram, crippled ssd 30-60giga, stock cooler (or the cheapo CM TX3-your i3 wont really need it) a trusty seagate barracuda 7200.12 500gb-1tb and all this in any budget case that will offer you 2 case fans (and a backplate window).

You can drop the dual gpu, get any nice Z68 mobo (Asrock extreme3 gen3 i have found to be excellent bang for buck and a powerful overclocker) i5 2500k. The cooler can range from CM 212 to Xigmatek Aegir (about 20$ apart) the rest pretty much the same just the GPU can go up to 6950, see what your money can buy. Think on it, post here and perhaps we can work out details when you have already settled on precise budget with some parts you like and then we can debate on weather for the same or similar money you could get something better (always in comparison to how the fit together and potential bottlenecking of one another)
