I have/had a GA-M57SLI-S4 with a AMD Phenom II X3, now I am looking for a decent budget to midrange replacement motherboard for it.
Seeing as the CPU is am3 that is what I am looking for and I am sure I will need DDR3 Ram as well.
But I am just not sure on the motherboards for this CPU...
I am hoping to get this machine running for my son as it was his pc for school work.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the tip,
I was also considering of just replacing the MB and CPU at the same time, we do a little gaming here and there, but nothing heavy,

I have a geforce 275 GTX card, so was wondering if simply a new MB would do or replace the MB and ram and use same CPU or just buy new MB/CPU/RAM.

Just motherboard will work fine with the X3 and GTX275. AM3+ motherboard and 2x 4GB DDR3 ram will work with current CPU and GTX275 and have upgrade ability for an FX CPU in the future. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Motherboard CPU and Ram and all options are open inclusive of Intel's LGA1155.
