Need help upgrading video card - is my PC a bottlneck?>

What I really want to know is if the best graphics card out there will work with my system. Or would I have to update certain parts? If so which parts would I have to update?

  1. BF3 is very taxing even on a quad core so I doubt even if you O.C.'d your dual core that it would be able to keep up.Your gonna have to buy a new CPU.Of course that also means you need a new mobo and new RAM to go with it.

    Your PSU is fine but your going to need a new graphics card.Espically if you want to take advantage of BF3's DX11.

    Are you not buying anything or do you just not have a set budget(sky's the limit?)?
  2. Ah, yes I am purchasing, just wasnt sure if I would have to upgrade full pc. I guess I should now. My budget will be $2500.
  3. With a budget like that you should have no problem maxing these and any other games out for the next 2 years.
  4. i would say upgrade the CPU... get a quad core. i have dual xfx 6950 2gb cards and they run great.

    $2500 would be overkill. $1200-1600 you should be set with a beast. (for just the tower and nothing else)
