RAM and Rendering

So right now when I render a 7 minute video in 720P, it takes about 20 minutes to finish. Although my CPU is excellent, my RAM is still lacking, I haven't upgraded it since I got my computer.

According to CPU-Z, I've got 6GB of DDR3, but it is only at a total of 2133Mhz frequency.

Would it be better to get 4 sticks of 4GB @ 1600 Mhz, or 2 sticks of 8GB at the same frequency?

Ones I'm looking at right now is this one:

2x8: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3683258&CatId=4534

4x4: http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=154017&CatId=4534

Thanks in advance!

  1. Honestly, I don't think that faster / more ram will help that much here. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

That being said, the BEST on the market right now is this:

It doesn't look like much, and it's not flashy, but it's the most overclockable RAM on the market. I have mine at 2400 with CAS 10.
