Hi all, I am trying to find a nvidia card to upgrade my old gts250 that works well with games but more importantly gives hardware acceleration in Premiere CS5 or CS5.5. Now the list that is supported isnt crucial since I "hacked" CS5 to use hardware acceleration with my old gts250 so I guess I can do it with all nvidia cards.
I am between EVGA GTX 550 VGA (PCI-Express, GDDR5, 2GB) and MSI GTX 560 Ti Hawk (PCI-Express, GDDR5, 1GB), willing to pay up to 240.
I have a 850W power supply but also 4 HDs and 1 SSD on it, an I7 920 and an Asus P6T mb.
Any suggestions and comments would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

PS I am in Greece but I am usually buying from Amazon.co.uk

What make is your 850W powersupply, is it a good brand such as ocz or corsair or is it some crappy generic one?

Hmm, well for games, if you are willing to spend 240 quid, you can go for

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004LKRYOU/ref=asc_df_B004LKRYOU4235138?smid=A17AS5ETPMZ9A1&tag=googlecouk06-21&linkCode=asn&creative=22218&creativeASIN=B004LKRYOU

and it performs very very well!

you can get an gtx 570 too, for 10 pounds more if you really want to get the best graphics card.

However if you just want to play games, and want hardware acceleration, not have a beastly computer, you really dont need to spend 240 quid... and it would be better if you went for something like

GTS 450 as your minimum
http://www.ebuyer.com/272427-zotac-gts-450-synergy-1gb-gddr5-dual-dvi-mini-hdmi-pci-e-graphics-zt-40503-10l

GTX 260 as a midrange i guess, same or similar to the radeon 5770/6770
http://www.scan.co.uk/products/896mb-scanfx-gtx-260-55nm-pci-e-20-%28x16%29-2000mhz-gddr3-gpu-576mhz-shader-1241mhz-216-cores?utm_source=google+shopping&utm_medium=google+shopping

or a GTX 460
http://www.dabs.com/products/evga-geforce-gtx-460-850mhz-1gb-pci-express-hdmi-ssc-7K7W.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product+search&utm_content=Q200

however another choice would be is, if your mother board has SLI compatebility, and you have enough pci express slots, and you have enough pci 6pin psu connectors, you can get an SLI with 2 gts 450's or 2 gtx 260's

just some of the things you can do.

Basically her fan is failing, and also in most of the games it creates huge white random lines (yes latest drivers installed).
