    100 dollar or pounds ?
  2. Around $100-150 Canadian dollar. Umm i need something that can run SC2 on high settings.
  3. It's amazing how people come on here and say I need a computer in the 1000 range. I mean it really helps to know if were talking about Pounds, US dollars, Canadian or Euro.

    We are not mindreaders.

Now how about giving us the rest of the information you left out.

What cpu? What mobo? What power supply make and model? What resolution is your monitor?

Telling us "likely a amd processor" does not tell us much. You could be talking about a single core Athlon64 3000+ or a hexacore Phenom II X6 1100T.
  4. This is what i am planning to get (Please feel free to give suggestions on my build):

    Antec Three Hundred Case
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
    Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EALX 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
    LG DVD Burner 24X
    AMD Phenom II X4 955
    Gigabyte 880GA-UD3H 880G CrossFireX Motherboard
Antec EarthWatts EA 650W Power Supply Green
    Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit - OEM
  5. Actually GeekApp. ; I CAN read your mind ! At this excact moment you think ; no, you can't, you . . . Am i right or am i right ? Sigh, ..., i know i shut up.
    Maybe, IF your system is up to it this one, it's closest ( bit more ) to 150 DOLLARS ( Canadian ) and imo is the lowest priced high end GPU you should get if you wanne play at high settings ;
  6. Does AMD processors work better with AMD video cards than Nvidia Video cards? Does it matter or not?
  7. It doesn't matter.

You want a AM3+ motherboard, not a AM3 motherboard. If you go AM3, you have no upgrade path. If you go AM3+ then you have upgrade-ability for the new AMD processors which are not out yet.

You can't use the board you chose for crossfire anyways, it's only 16x/4x pci-e. You want 16x/16x, 16x/8x, or 8x/8x.

In that price range for a video card your looking at a 5770 up to a GTX560, depending on what you want to spend and if you do rebates or not. Check the email specials and daily deals on newegg.
  8. In that budget, see if you can find a GTX460. If not, and your primary interest is SC2, get a GTX550ti. Blizzard games seem to favor nVidia, otherwise I'd probably suggest a HD6790 or HD6770.
  9. I'd suggest a 560 over a 460. Same price, 560 is a little faster.
  10. Is the card any good? It's on sale.

    XFX Radeon HD 6850 Limited Edition 775MHZ 1GB 4.0GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI Display Port HDMI PCI-E Video Card
