How much better is the fx 6100 vs 4100?

i bought a fx 4100 because BD arcitecture is still new and i didnt want to waste money. the fx6100 is about 30 dollars more expensive how much better is it? is it about twice the performance?

its about 40-50% more performance in multithreaded programs and less powerful in single threaded programs.

that is why i suggest people to buy an i3-2100 and later upgrade to an 3570k or 3770k.

I think he means a different 3570.

as for your situation I don't think you'd want to get the 6100.

Its not even out yet...

The i3-2120 (I was doing some research today on some benchmarks) will BEAT my Core 2 Quad in almost every benchmark and gaming performance. It beats a QUAD. A quad that is less than 4 years old. Lemme repeat that: A $120 CPU beats a CPU that I paid $250 for just 3 years ago. I still can't believe that people don't take the i3 seriously, its a great chip.

Let me clarify for you, the 3570K is a Ivy Bridge CPU that's replacing the 2500K. Ivy Bridge CPUs aren't out until April 8th (rumor) and they will most likely be the same price point of a 2500K.

This brand new article (you might have already read it) says even a $70 dual-core Intel Pentium can beat the flagship 8150 in some games. This is very saddening to me because Intel could go monopoly on us at any given second.

yes and once the ivy bridge comes with the 3570 k its going to be priced higher then the fx 6100 again. out of my price range. i didnt say it was available yet. the thread is about something around the 160 dollar range for best performance
