My Gaming Rig

Just wanted to know what you guys thought of the tower rig I'm building (for gaming purposes).

CPU Intel Core i5-2400 3.1GHz Quad-Core
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z68P-DS3 ATX LGA1155
Memory Mushkin Silverline 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333
Hard Drive Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM
Video Card PowerColor Radeon HD 6950 2GB
Case Raidmax Hurricane (Black) ATX Mid Tower
Power Supply OCZ 600W ATX12V / EPS12V
Optical Drive Samsung SH-222AB DVD/CD Writer

I think it's pretty solid considering I'm only spending $625 USD, but I just wanted some input from people with more experience. The only thing I'm not sure about is whether to buy a sound card or not. I want something with quality HD, but is it worth upgrading or are the mobo's capabilities enough?

  1. Scratch that on the sound card. Ive decided it's overkill.
  2. +1 to the 2500k

but get a hyper plus 212 heatsink or similar to get the most out of the 2500k overclocking ability
  3. 2500K is well worth the extra + OCZ PSUs are not the best, they are not to bad but you should be able to get a Corsair or Antec for a similar price.

Yeah but I found this one for a deal. $35 and it's modular, which I'd prefer because I don't want to deal with all those extra cables. The closest match I've found is an Antec 550W ATX12V and it's double the price. I know my overall price is still pretty good but I'm trying to minimize as much spending as possible, leaving some extra cash in case I decide to add a SSD or something along the lines.
