im gettin a sapphire radeon hd 5570 soon (with display port).
im just wondering if i install this card into my pc can i still use my HDMI output that is built in to the pc itself?
or do i need to use either the DP or DVI D that is on the GPU?

its only because ive not got a DP to HDMI cable just yet.

thanks alot in advance

Uhh once you install a video card the video ports on the motherboard become useless..Youll have to use the ones on the card...

That is not necessarily true. It varies by motherboard but most current ones will allow you to enable the onboard video while also using a discrete card.

@OP: So are you saying the HD5570 does not have HDMI out and your monitor only has HDMI input? If so you would want to get a DVI to HDMI converter. They should only cost a few dollars online.

no the hd 5570 has got a display port instead of a hdmi,
but i found out i can use a dp to hdmi lead/adapter.
will that be fine?

A DVI to HDMI adapter would likely be cheaper.
