Hello all,

I am looking for some general advice (or any advice) on building a new rig for the first time. I have done some research myself but there's a lot of info out there and even more products. I want to build a good base that will play Skyrim on High or even Ultra (my goal). I want to spend around $1000 preferably less, but I'll put out for quality. Any suggestions, advice, anything would be greatly appreciated.

Approximate Purchase Date: Next month or two. Probably have to buy piece by piece.

Budget Range: 500-1000.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Gaming, some more gaming, and internet (netflix)

Parts Not Required: Need just about everything

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Newegg, Tigerdirect, but open to suggestions

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: I'm probably going to get a midtower case, i5 2500k processor, other than that I am open to suggestions.

Overclocking: Maybe, I would like to have the option. Even if I never do it.

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe, same as above.

Monitor Resolution: Don't know at the moment. Probably be the last thing I buy.

Additional Comments: Doesn't have to be the prettiest thing on earth. I just want to have a decent computer.

Solution
If you're planning to buy stuff in a couple of months time, might as well hold out a while longer for the new range from Intel, AMD and Nvidia due out early next year.

I have a basic laptop right now so pretty much. I'm not too worried about keyboard/mouse. I wouldn't mind a monitor recommendation. I don't want a huge monitor and I don't plan on using more than one monitor at the moment.
