Motherboard for gaming

Hello everyone,

First of all I want to say that I'm quite new to the world of hardware, etc. So be warned if I ask stupid questions!

My question is: does it matter a lot if you buy a z77 mobo for around 85 euros or a much more expensive mobo for gaming?

My rig would look like this:
- IB 3470 (with TurboBoost as high as possible)
- HD 6970 MSI Lightning
- Aerocool Devil Red Case (Midi)
- 8 GB RAM
- Maybe a Arctic Freezer 7 PRO Rev. 2 or a Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO for my CPU if necessary
- 600 Wat Sharkoon PSU
- Windows 7 Home
- HDD 1 TB 7200 rpm

Games in mind: Skyrim with mods, Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, next year GTA 5, COD BO 2, The Witcher 2, and some others.

The more expensive boards will have more features but gaming performance will be the same.

Different pcie/pci slots and speeds, usb, sata, esata, thunderbolt, lots of other ports, audio chipset, lan chipset, video outputs, bluetooth, fan connections, vrm, or anything else I forgot to mention.
