Hey, so im looking to upgrade my Mobo and CPU. My current mobo cant take any of the I3, I5s or I7s so im looking for an upgrade for that as well as a CPU upgrade obviously probably an I5 for price reasons. Whats a good motherboard and processor in the price range of 200-250ish? My DDR3 is fine for anything all drives are SATA connections. ATX preferably and PCIe 16x slot needed too. thanks!

You actually have a great setup that can be upgraded modularly.

I would say get an i3-21xx and get the best Z68 motherboard you can with your budget. That way you will have a great upgrade path for CPU and possibly SLI. Anything from AMD and you are basically at a dead end in terms of CPU upgradeability 1-3 years down the road when you are ready to upgrade.

The i3 will kick the crap out of your current CPU, but an i5 2400 would be preferable if you have the money.
