Hello everybody,

I am ready to do my new build and Its a budget gaming build. My maximum budget is $500-600. I live in Canada, so the main stores I go to are tigerdirect.ca or canadacomputers.com. I picked a few parts, but as I'm not really familiar with AMD, I am looking for some advice.

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 840 http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=4_64&item_id=037637
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-890XA-UD3 Socket AM3 AMD 790Xhttp://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=26_340&item_id=030550
Graphics: Sapphire HD 6870 http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=43_557_558&item_id=035515
Power Supply: Antec TP-650 Truepower New 650W http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=33_443&item_id=021533
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series DDR3 1333MHz 2x4gb. http://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_312_611&item_id=035766
Case: Cooler Master Rc430 http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6430030&CatId=1509
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 500GB
Optical Drive: ASUS DRW-24B1ST Black SATA

I'm also not sure if my processor is too weak and if there will be any bottlenecking. What do you guys think?

Thanks

Hi,

the 955 would be a worthwhile upgrade. You can go with a cheaper PSU, that should run a 6870 CrossFire. I'd try and get a 900-series mobo for longevity.
