How to connect the Laptop to PC ?

Hi guys , brought one of my Friend LAPTOPS & i wanted to Play Games like Counter with him , i with my Computer & he with his Laptop , but i realy dont know how to connect Laptop & pc together ! i have DSL modem

1.one blue line from modem goes to back of my Case
2.one black line goes to phone line
3.& i Plug In third black line ! ( from modem )

Now i wanna know how do i can connect laptop to my PC ? that i can play Games , should i play them Via Network or without internet or any network connection ?

Laptop is not far from my PC , both Laptop & pc are in same room !

get a router.

connect the router to the modem and then connect the two PC via network cable to the router.

If the games don't need internet access you could just run a crossover version of an ethernet cable between the two computers.

my friend tell me that i need natrual network cable which socket is Crosst
& he said that i dont need internet connection .is that right

The principal is:

connection from a computer to a router = regular (straight through) cable

connection from computer to computer = crossover cable

However some modern computers have auto-sensing sockets so can switch and work with a regular cable between two computers.

Try any ethernet cable and see if Windows detects the connection.

If you don't need internet connection, then an ethernet cable (even having to buy a crossover cable) will cost less than a router.
