Ok. I just built this system.

Intel i5 2500k CPU
Stock Intel Cooler
Asrock Fatality P67 Performance Motherboard
1 x 4GB DDR3 1600 G.skill Ripjaw RAM
OCZ Fatality 550w Modular PSU
Seagate Barracuda 500 GB 7200 RPM
Antec 300 Illusion
MSI GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II

When I get some money, what should be the first thing I should upgrade? (PS this is for 1080p gaming)

do you have any benchmarks you can show us where you get a major performance boost in games by using more than 4 gig of RAM ?

I ask ..because I know you are wrong

The only reason to add more RAM to this computer is to try and get it into dual channel , not because it will benefit from more

I'd go for ram first, you currently have only 1 stick so you won't be taking advantage of dual-channel technology.

I'd recommend either 2x2 Gb or 2x4 Gb.
(if possible get 1 more that matches the EXACT same model as what you already have, both sticks should be the same)

+1 for cpu cooler as mentioned by ZachCuDen
My choice would be COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 EVO [newegg.com]

Then a SSD drive as a main drive (OS reinstall recommended)
