Hi guys, I need some advice and comments on my future build.

Im planning on building a new computer for BF3 and other games.

I am thinking about going crossfire later on.

So here are the parts im considering getting.

I will be playing games on my Sony Bravia TV with HDMI

When i check the max resolution is 1920 x 1080

My max budget is $1200 btw.

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two V3 Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case - $109.00[$10.00 mail in rebate]

MOBO: ASRock z68 EXTREME3 GEN3 - $154.99

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500k SB - $214.99

GPU: Sapphire Flex Radeon HD 6950 2gb - $259.99[$20.00 mail in rebate]

RAM: G.skill Ripjaws X series 8gb Memory - $48.99

PSU: Corsair Enthusiast series TX750 power supply. - $ 104.99[$10.00 mir]

CPU: Zalman CNP9900 max-b cpu cooler - $69.99[$15.00 mir]

HD: Hitachi 500gb hard drive - $79.99 [500gb since i already have external 360gb HD]

Asus dvd burner -$ 19.99

and the total comes out to 1161.97 with tax and shipping. [Excluting the $55 mail-in rebate]

I would also like to know if that mother board and core i5 supports crossfire.

get a z68 board, not a p67. http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=Z68%20Extre... this is a good mid range board, supports upcoming ivy bridge intel cpu's and PCIE 3 and sli/crossfire. its also probably cheaper than the p67 one allowing you to get a better hard drive, like a 1tb samsung F3. The rest of your build is fine. You will not need crossfire at such a low resolution, the vid card you have is overkill for that resolution. But being overkill isnt always a bad things, it just means it will last longer, and it will still be good if you want to upgrade your tv/monitor to a higher resolution one.

Thx for the MOBO, I was looking at that one too, but wasnt sure which one was better.

changed the posting to z68 . thx =]

I want to run BF3 and other hightend games on max or ultra setting. Would HD6950 be still an overkill????

Your TV is 720p and has fewer pixels [ lower resolution ] than a 19 inch computer monitor.

Its thats the only screen you will use then you are spnding proably double what you need to .
Phenom 955 2 x2 gig of RAM
and a 6870
or vanilla gtx 560
500 watt psu

will max out any game

A 6950 is definitely not an overkill for that resolution

The only suggestions I can make on your build is to change the HDD to a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB, I think its around the same price

And also try to get the V2 version of the TX750w psu

Thx for you advice. I looked up for samsung spinpoint f3, but they are sold out. =[

and the psu is a V2 version. =]

but would 750 be enough for future crossfire???
