I would like to know from you folks out there with ata 100 boards and cables, How do i tell a regular ide cable from one that is ata 100, is there a tell tale sign or numbering system are they colored differently? the reason i ask is i have a bunch of cables here and i dont know which are which. i have some that have a blue end grey middle and black end, and i know the ata 100 cables are like that also but do they also sell regular ide cables with the same coloring?

If you Overclock an Intel Processor fast enough, it will turn into an AMD. True Story.

ATA/66 and ATA/100 cables are identical. The difference between "normal" ide cables and ata/100 cables is that they have twice as many wires in the ribbons. Also, and correct me if i am wrong, a ATA/33 drive connected with an ata/100 cable "may" experiance faster transfers.

ATA66 and ATA100 cables typically have smaller ridges in them than ATA33 cables. This attribute of them should be very easy to see visually.

The wires on a normal/33 cable are the same size as the one on the floppy. The ATA 66/100 wires are half as thick so that twice as many can be used on the same sized connector.
