as you can see intel hd 2000 is a built in graphics...while 8400gs is external gpu....i recently had this gpu on my pentium 4....in which i cant able to play fifa 11 maxed out...but now i have core i5 2400 means intel hd graphics...now i can play fifa 11 maxed out...
the difference is hd 2000 is newer technology and a faster than 8400gs which is quite old...

okay sir.

Actualy am planning to get a new pc this week-

i5 2400
2 GB DDR3 RAM

I am a very much addicted to gaming. I will get a Graphic card around next year, say Radeon HD 68xx or HD 69xx.

But before i get that card i want play old games with the Intel HD 2000 graphics which comes with the i5 2400.

By old game i meant GTA SAN ANDREAS. Its one of my most fav game. I want to play GTA San Andreas at 1600x900. I know this game doesnt support 16:9 res, so i will must patch it.

So, my question is.

1Q.Is GTA San Andreas playable at 1600x900 with fully maxed out settings?

2Q. How much FPS it achieves at 1600x900 with max settings?

I hope you will help me bro. Thanks.

I used to own a old HP Pavilion with a pentium 4 and a 8400 GS and trust me the game ran great at near max with No AA at 1280X1024.Considering the intel hd is one tier above the 8400 and your fast CPU the game will run great at 1600X900.You may not be able to turn on AA.As far as hot pursuit 2010 goes forget max settings with that card.I own a i7 870 with a gtx 275 and with forced AA from the control panel and max settings I got about 40 fps at 1680X1050.You will have to lower settings in hot pursuit 2010.
BTW if you are planning to buy a GPU next year you should be aiming at the radeon 7000 series or gtx 600.

because i played the gta on my old monior....1a week ago i just got a new led monitor...

I would suggest you to consider buying i5-2500K instead, it has HD 3000 core, which is better than the HD 2000 one. I have not tried the games you say you want to play, but on this notebook with HD 3000 (and HD 6770M). Even the HD 3000 is able to play TF2/L4D2/EEII with reasonable frame-rates.

For OC i5 is better, and i wont OC. Here i5 2400 and 2500k differs by about $35. With that $35 i can get a HD 5450 here. So no point of i5 2500k.

According to this the intel gma hd which is weaker than the intel hd 2000 gets average of nearly 45 fps at 1280X720 on max.Your card is nearly 25% more powerful so you can run the game on max at 1600X900

Celpas@ thanks, but are you sure?

Bilalwaseem@ I asked you something else.

this is just a deduction but as you can see in gta 4 with intel hd graphics he an get about 20 fps without fraps.considering how much more demanding gta 4 is than san andreas you should be pretty much comforrtable. Remember I have completed gta san andreas with a 8400 GS and at 1280X1024 at extreme max with AA it was slightly laggy. You should be able to run gta san andreas at 1600X900 with no AA and medium draw distance.seriously why are you even aiming to max it out.The game has cartoonish graphics even on max so will low settings even matter that much?

Reply to celpas

I just found a good video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCt [...] re=related
he is playing at 1440X900 with a 8400 GS and at max settings. He has turned on frame limiter in the game options which limits fps to 30.Considering that your card is one tier above his you will get exactly the same performance he is getting at 1600X900.

everyone is just posting vids from youtube. please people, post back with benchmarked results(you can find them more faster than youtube videos)

speaking of which, the link I've posted above is a chart, identify the GPU's in question and see where they lie.

Personally, you can game on an intel HD2000/3000 chip but don't expect your eyes to water because of seeing really awesome special effects.

I built a rig for a pal, an HTPC rig with these;
ECS H67H2-M
intel i3-2100 @ stock
4GB kingston DDR3 1333MHz
2TB Samsung HD204UI HDD
Thermaltake Toughpower 600W PSU

and he was able to play FIFA 11 and PES 11 with the settings set to medium. But he was disappointed with the results...I told him to invest in a discrete card(one which is ofcourse higher than the iGPU) and he can then call it a gaming(mid-high end) HTPC build.

P.S; game developers spend a good amount of time to bump up details on games - exclude MW3  so a discrete GPU is worth it...one which is 3 tiers higher ofcourse.

hope this helps.

Celpas@ very helpful vids.

Lutfit@ if you read my 2nd reply, u will find that i will get a hd 69xx after few months. But i want to game with intel hd 2000 befor i get the card. And in that chart given by you, there is no intel HD 2000.

there is, look down the lower third of the chart and on your right under the Intel column.

I'll say it again, don't expect much from the 2000/3000 iGPU. But as a temporary solution, you could play older titles on low settings or res's. Either way the iGPU gets the job done.
