Upgrade

So, my DDR2 memmory is starting to throw errors. I would rather not spend $100 on 4gb of DDR2. Im toying with upgrading my system so here is what i have.

Im thinking of getting an 2500k, Z78 mobo and down the line a second 6950.

I cant really see getting another AMD platform when Intel is so far ahead, unless there is a great combo that I dont see.

Budget is somewhere around $400

Any ideas?
