Hello, I am going to make my own computer and have been looking at the HIS 6850 Radeon HD graphics card and noticed that it said PCI Express 2.1 x16. I looked at the specs of the motherboard that I am going to get and saw that it didn't have any PCI Express 2.1 ports, but it did have PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots. Will the graphics card work in a 2.0 x16 slot? Here are the parts:

Hello and welcome to the forums
PCI-E 2.1 cards work fine in PCI-E 2.0 slots(That mobo you linked has PCI-E 2.1 slots)

You card is compatible with all PCIe X16 slot.

Quote:
PCI Express 2.1 supports a large proportion of the management, support, and troubleshooting systems planned for full implementation in PCI Express 3.0. However, the speed is the same as PCI Express 2.0. Most motherboards sold currently come with PCI Express 2.1 connectors.

Thanks Maziar. I'm new to the home building computers scene, could you tell me what part of the specs of the mobo tells you that it is PCI-E 2.1?
