Can a AM3+ fit on a M2N78-LA (Violet6) Motherboard

Im looking to upgrade me Prossesser on my HP but before I buy I'm wandering if an AM3+ will fit on my motherboard. I know they can on more rescent boards but im not sure if it will fit one mine.

No. A few low end am3's might work, but it's not guaranteed. Check the oem manufacturer's webpage for your board and see what cpus are listed.

I checked to manufaacturer's site and the 3+ sockets weren't listed. Just thought I could find a way to put one on still without brakeing anything. Thanks for the help though.

If it's not listed, you cant use it.

You'll have to stick with AM3 CPUs. Check HP to see what models your board supports, or just send them an email and ask them.
