Windows 7 shutdown problems

im trying to shut down my computer by clicking on the shutdown butten but nothing is happening, i also clicked on the restart butten still no results but when i hit the hybenate button it hybenates please tell me how to fix this problem

Is this a new build? Is this a problem you've always had, or did it just start?
A bit more info will help us find the problem.

Just a stab in the dark, it sounds like you've got some software running (possibly in the background) that is not allowing windows to shut down properly. Have you made any recent software changes/ updates drivers/ windows updates?
