Hello, I would like to build a gaming computer with budget approximately 1750 usd (of course, less is better). Since all of you are probably more experienced all comments are appreciated.

Here is my build so far, any improvements are welcomed:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition (rationale: I read that X6 is no better in gaming and the price brings more for the buck as i5 or i7)
Motherboard: ASUS M5A99X EVO
graphic card: SAPPHIRE HD 6870
RAM: CORSAIR 16GB KIT DDR3 1600MHz CL9 Blue Vengeance XMP
Power: CORSAIR CX600 V2
Harddrive: SEAGATE Barracuda Green 2000GB
Case: CoolerMaster Centurion 5 II
DVD Drive: LG GH22NS

Thx.

in my opinion, i would cut down on the RAM.

I would shrink it to 8GB.. 16 is over kill for anything and is not needed.

I would also recomend getting a better processor.. the X4 BE is a little older and is being phased out. Yes you will get better "bang for the buck" than an i5.. but the i5/i7 socket is much newer and can be easily upgraded in the future. (instead of having to replace mobo and cpu with your next upgrade)

with $1750 to spend, you are only using less than $1000 here it looks likes. You holding back any?

Thank you for your replies.

I am under the 1750 cap, but I am from Europe and the prices are significantly higher in our region.
