I am building a supermicro X8DTI-O with 2 x E5620's into a spare supermicro 2U case
with the OEM 400W PWS. Added twelve sticks of DDR3 1333 RAM, 2 Caviar 500GB drives,
and the 4 80mm system fans behind the HD backplane (power off the mobo).
Passive CPU heatsinks.
Using two molex on separate leads that are y'ed into a 2nd 8-pin EPS adapter. The
PWS only came with one 8-pin EPS connector. (Hint that this is a 1 Xeon PWS).
Seems like I am at the "red-line" for power delivery on this config from this PWS.
I don't many options from SuperMicro for a PWS replacement for this low cost
"SuperServer" (one CPU) case.
Am I OK, or do I need to re-think this?
