Purchased & like my A95 a couple of months ago & am thinking of
purchasing a 2nd 1 soon but I am wondering if I should wait to see
what Canon replaces it with & when.
Most of Canon's P&S camera line seems to be switching over to
SD flash memory cards which I don't want because of a considerable
investment in CF cards for my DSLR & other digital cameras. Staying
with 4 "AA" batteries & CF is fine by me, also 5MP meets my needs in a
P&S type camera. However I don't want to buy a 2nd A95 now, only to
find out that I could have purchased an improved version @ about the
same cost if I just waited a few months.
1 will get used without any accessories, everyday general
purpose camera & the other will be used with several add-on filters &
a reverse mounted 50mm lens for serious macro works & etc.
So the question is wait & see what replaces it or does anybody
think that it will be replaced by a SD530 or SD540 which I won't like?
Must have features for me are:
1> 5MP or greater but only if it has equal or less digital sensor
noise.
2> CF memory use.
3> Swivel LCD screen.
4> "C" Custom mode setting, where it even remembers manual focus.
Constructive suggestions welcome, yes I know none of us has a
crystal of ball & technology will always move forward. Hopefully this
camera line will retain these qualities & just add a few more features
but if the future is more MP's without retaining these qualities then
why wait?
Thanks in advance for all opinions/advice.
Respectfully, DHB
