I installed a wireless NIC and booted up my machine. XP detected the new hardware and I went through auto configuration to install but when I went to detect drivers or software I was unable to so I canceled the operation to install from the CD-ROM. I went to My Computer to open up my drive and it was no longer there. I then went to device manager to look for it but it was no longer there. Its as if installing my NIC uninstalled my CD-ROM drive. I have not taken the NIC out yet and rebooted but I just wanted to know if anyone has heard of this???
