Graphic card, which one should i buy?

I want to buy a new graphic card that is future proof. What i meant is, it can still handle future games until 2013.

I have a sufficient budget enough to buy GTX 570/6970 (similarly priced from where i lived). But im more of a bang for the buck. I do a lot of gaming and other school works. Would the AMD 5770 be enough to support my needs? or should i be looking towards the 6850? I am not a fan of neither Nvidia or AMD, i just want to get my system running for my needs.

I wont be doing any multiple gpu, just a single card.

What resolution you will be playing ? Whats your PSU and Mobo ? 6970 only for higher res. Otherwise 6950 or 570, but depends on your system.

Go with the 6970 out of your two picks. Both are great cards. The 5770 is underpowered and will not last as long as you want. It was actually on it's way out when it was released. I have 3 of them, and they are great, but I've already upgraded.

I just got this set up a week ago... didnt noe that it needed a good gpu to run the latest games. You see, i moved from a console gaming to PC gaming, IMO pc gaming is much better. Will the 6970 be able to run games for the next 2-3 years?

There is no such thing as "future proof". No one can guarantee you that a you'll still be able to play games (& play them well) on a 2011 graphics card in 2013. Roll back the clock a couple of years & see what what some of the mid-range gaming cards were back then - then ask yourself if you'd still be happy with one of those cards today.

I love my gtx560ti. Plays everything at 1080p and overclocks to the 570 performance.

I agree. I had the gtx260 216 and it would play battlefield bad company 2 and cod black ops good enough on a 1680 x 1050 resolution but I am sure would be very bottlenecking my i7 2600k if I were still using it.

Morris - how computer savvy are you? Why not go with one of the mid range cards now, and if your computer can handle it, but another later to SLI. From what I have read 2 gtx560ti in SLI out performs the gtx580, which is the best single slot card out there at the moment.

I wasnt really in to computer back then, until a fren of mine introduce BC2 on his PC system. Still learning....

Morris - yes I play those except shift2 and I am using max settings. On bfbc2 I get around 80fps running at either 1680x1050 or 1080. With black ops, unless you change the config file I max out at 90 fps, when increase the fps cap on black ops I max out at 120fps. Same resolutions above. Crysis 2 I max out at 40-50fps max settings, same resolutions. Make sure you get a 560ti and not jsut a 560. There is a difference. I have my evga 560ti fpb overclocked to the ssc levels with fan at 65% using precision and it is still quiet and runs great.

That sounds great... i think im going for the GTX 560 Ti... The only thing is evga brand is not sold here, the only brand they have is MSI, ASUS and Gigabyte. Is those brand have any difference to what you have? To me, Msi is much of a steal, since it is $80 cheaper.

Morris - go for the twin frozer. That is the card I would have bought had the evga not come with some photoshop software I was going to buy anyway. You will not be dissapointed.
