Check CPU Core Voltage error

So since I've made the jump to water cooling I have been gradually overclocking my Q6600. This week its been running stable at 3.6ghz @ 1.48vcore, however last night when I got home from work my PC wouldn't boot, my motherboard gave me the error 8.7 Check CPU Voltage. The PC was running fine in the morning. I have tried resetting the CMOS, but I still get the same error. Is it time to get a new PSU or is 1.48v enough to kill my Q6600? Would a dead CPU even give that error?

Thanks.

No. I just boots up with a black screen and the restarts every 4-5 secs. Tried resetting the CMOS via the jumpers and removing battery etc.
