Problems after replacing CMOS battery

Hi,
I am repairing a MSI 785G-E53 AM3 AMD motherboard from CMOS bad checksum and thus I went off to replace my CMOS battery using a brand new sony CR2032 with the positive side facing up. They showed up the mainboard screen and the screen went blank. The power light is on and the CPU fan is running and stuff. Other than that nothing else happens. I'm not sure if that is enough information so please advice thank you

o i forgot something. I try to press del to get to the BIOS but i just cant get through. the screen just went blank.. pls help :S

So you put the cell in the right way around, If you did just short the bios out and make sure you put the jumper pin on the board back on to the right jumpers for normal mode not clear.

Did you check to see if you bought the correct cell battery replacement for your motherboard?
