5770 flickering screen

i just recently bought a 5770 hd radeon and it seems the screen likes to flicker a lot and it messes with my mouse curser causing it to become off alienment and distorted. I have tried updating the drivers and using the hotfix that should have fixed this but it didn't work and iam still having issues. is there a way to fix this problem?

I know what you are talking about, but it only happened to me when I played starcraft 2. It would happen mid game and sometimes stay even after I exited the game. I want to say its because its overheating, because it tend to happen when I overclocked my card. Now that I think about it its been a while sense that has happened.
What are you doing when this happens to you?

nothing i could be on the desktop and it happens, playing a multiude of games, or watching videos it just happens. I don't think its overheating because my card sits at about 40C when it is happening.
