Hello,
I would like to know that, which would be the best option from the following config:
0) 4x1GB 1333MHz & 4x1GB 1333MHz Two SO-DIMMS.
1) 4x1GB 1333MHz & 8x1GB 1333MHz Two SO-DIMMS.
2) 4x1GB 1600MHz & 4x1GB 1600MHz Two SO-DIMMS.

I am using a 1st Gen i7 Quad-Core laptop w/ Windows 8 64-Bit. I use it for gaming.

Thankyou for your Insight.

Option 2. You don't need more than 8GB.

4x1GB 1600MHz & 4x1GB 1600MHz Two SO-DIMMS

Faster RAM and proper dual channel configuration.

But will it work on a first Generation core i7 processor. I am currently using 4x1GB 1333MHz.

Oh, hmm yeah then it probably doesn't support the faster memory. Not that it would be a problem, the faster memory would just run at the slower speed. But I guess it may be cheaper just to buy the 2 x 4 GB 1333 MHz.

Thanks a lot, one more query. What if I use 1x4GB 1333 MHz and 1x8GB 1333 MHz totalling upto 12GB will it work in dual channel with lower latency or the other way around?

It might run in hybrid mode to give you the benefits of dual channel for part of the memory. But there's really no point - you definitely won't need more than 8 GB for gaming.
