Approximate Purchase Date: Near the upcoming holidays, for some nice deals... hopefully.

Budget Range: I would like to stay under $800, but I can go to $1000.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, surfing the web, watching movies and music.

Parts Not Required: I need 'em all.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: Never built my own, so I don't know what I would prefer. Whatever is in my budget and will get done what needs to be done. But, I would like a 24" 1080p monitor, I am willing to go smaller though. 20" at the least.

Overclocking: Doubtful. I don't know how to currently, but maybe someday. And unless it will benefit me greatly, or save me money, I'll pass for now.

SLI or Crossfire: Not sure what/how either of those work. So, whatever is best for my build.

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1200 would be great, but it doesn't have to be that.

Additional Comments: I don't need anything flashy, I just want to enjoy my games at max settings. A quiet PC wouldn't hurt, but isn't necessary.
Some of the games my girlfriend and/or myself currently play now are: Dungeon Defenders, FlyFF, MapleStory, Dragon Saga, Dragon Nest, and Torchlight. And who knows what else in the future. I don't play anything like BF3, CoD, Crysis and whatnot on PC, I leave that to my consoles. However, I can't say that I never would consider it. So, whatever works to make those games I play run perfectly at max settings is what I'm looking for.

Sorry, I haven't looked into parts too much, as I am totally new at this and I'm not sure what would work. This seems to be a great community and I was hoping someone out there wouldn't mind using some of their free time to help a noob out.

One last thing... I'm not sure if I'm ready to put it together myself, so about finding a professional to do it? Is it possible to have it built with the parts I choose and then shipped? Or would that just ramp up the cost a lot? I'm in a small town, so I don't know about any computer stores around here, but I could travel to one near me.

Borrow an old keyboard and mouse .

Big monitors make gaming more fun.

Intel quad core with the latest technology .

There is no mechanical hard drive included . Flooding in Thailand has forced prices up to ridiculous levels so this can wait till you need the storage , but I have included a 60 gig solid state [SSD] hard drive that will increase performance and responsiveness of the computer . Its too small to hold windows, all your games and all your files ..but it will let you install windows and some games . Later you can add a mechanical hard drive for data storage when prices return to reasonable levels .

All you need to build a computer is a screwdriver and an online tutorial . And not to be an idiot .

Sweet, thank you. Perhaps when the sales hit I can find a HDD at a reasonable price seeing as that's when I intended to start buying most of the parts. I've seen a few guides on here for building a PC, so I'll make sure I check in if I need any help.

This may seem like a silly question, but don't I need a Optical Drive to install the OS? Maybe I overlooked it in the stuff you listed, or you can do it without them, but I don't know?
Also, what about a heat sink?

Anyone mind answering those last questions for me?
Never mind about the second question, I see that there's a heat sink and fan included with the CPU
