my current setup is:

geforce 9600 gt
amd phenom 2 965 not oc
800 4 gb memory
asus crosshair II formula mobo
1 dvd
2 hdd: 1 TB and a 160 gb
1 80 mm fan

power supply, thermaltake 600w 80% efficient two lines v1 18 amp and v2 18 amp

More specifically: http://thermaltakeusa.com/Product.aspx?C=1432&ID=1527 # Tab1

my question is if I need to change my power supply on the other because I'm changing my video card to this 560 ti geforce

this: http://www.msi.com/product/vga/N560GTX-Ti-Twin-Frozr-II-OC.html

basically I'm not sure if it will be enough my power supply or if it just. I'm not using SLI or overclocking settings as you see my add in the future 2 80 mm fans

the other question is:

assuming enough my power supply.

There are 2 lines 12v of 18 amp each and am not sure if I connect 2 or only 1 to the video card. if I can clarify this thanks.

pardon my English.

Sigh.

With 2-way SLI we noticed our power consumption for the cards peaked to roughly 298 Watts, that's JUST the two cards, not the entire PC.

Can you see where you went wrong now? I think the GTX560 TI has a TDP of around 170W. (according to this anyways... http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/493743.aspx) 125W for the CPU and my usual 50W number for the rest of the system and you are looking at around 345W for a system with the GTX560TI.

I can't find any info on how much power that PSU can output. You normally can't just add the numbers together to get 36A. Considering that we are talking just over half of what the PSU is rated at, its probably ok. You do need to use two PCIe plugs with the GTX560TI.

The 560 ti under max loads uses about 175W or ~15 amps. on the 12v rail(s).

Your current PSU shows a total of 38 amps. peak available on the two 12V rails, with 36 amps. being the normal operating max. Figuring a nominal 10 amps for the CPU and 5 amps. for the fans, HD, etc. you will be fine with the power of your PSU under full load conditions.

Edited to correct for ONE 560 ti card instead of SLI.
