Why can't I use CAS2 DIMMs

The Crucial Memory Selector doesn't recommend any 256Mb PC133 CL2 modules for my ASUS P2B (http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.asp?model=P2B&x=13&y=12).
Anyone can tell me why? I don't get any answers from Crucial.
They suggest 128Mb PC133 CL2, so why not 256Mb?

I'm not sure about your particular board, but most if not all boards have a limit of the size of each DIMM.

Depends how old the board is. This applies especially with brand name prebuilt computers. I've seen a Compaq about 3 years ago only take up to 32mb DIMMs, and they were PC66 too!

i have been reading the manual for a p2b rev 1.0
and it says that you can use dimms upto 256mb each.
if you were told only pc133 cl3 it is probably because your board only officialy supports 100 mhz fsb.
pc133 cl2 will work as long as you don't use dimmms that are larger then 256mb

I finally ordered a 256Mb PC133 CL2 RAM module from Crucial and it works marvellously well on my P2B. In fact, it solved a lot of previous problems I had.
