My comp:

CPU: AMD Athlon II X3 435 2.90 GHz
Motherboard: GA-MA785GM-US2H
GPU: Radeon HD 6750 1GB
Ram: 4GB DDR2

I unlocked the 4th core on my AMD Athlon II X3 435 using EasyTuner 6. It rebooted and updated bios firmware. After it's all loaded and programs are starting they crash(stop working). Skype crashes, Chrome crashes, AMD Vision Engine etc. Any idea why this would happen? I've had to revert the unlock so I'm not sure if it's unstable or if there is something I need to fix or tweak.

It's not stable unlocked. There really is nothing you can do but put it back to 3 cores. When you buy a unlock able CPU there is no guarantee it will unlock and be stable.

Hi :)

You now know the reason that AMD sold it as an X3 rather than an X4....

All the best Brett :)

You were unlucky in getting a CPU that didn't unlock and run stable.
