Hey All,

I'm wanting to make a Media PC. I have a gaming pc setup in the office. I'm wanting to build a media pc to put in the lounge connected to my TV and connected (wirelessly) to my network.

I've built gaming PCs a few times, but I have no idea what level is required for a media PC. I want it to be as cheap as possible, but to be fine playing blue ray or any video files stored on it. I don't know if a video card is needed, or if onboard is good enough.

Could I get some suggestions? I only need the box, no peripherals.

Cheers
Si

Integrated graphics is good enough for HD so long as it's good integrated graphics like the Intel 1155 or AMD FM1 socket. The AMD E-350 and E-450 would also work.

I would probably go with the E-350 because it's cheap with low power consumption meaning you could probably make a completely fanless system without a problem.

I'd grab an ASUS E35M1-M PRO and 2GB of RAM and a nice HTPC case.
