I need an upgrade for my ASUS M2NPV-VM Motherboard..Right now i am running a 9800GTX+ 6 gigs of DDR2....and alll backed by a jokingly slow 3800+ 64X2 AMD... I need a compatible upgrade preferably under 100$ Primary uses will be gaming (A new system is not doable at moment and i realize my CPU is the major bottleneck).

Hi :)

I suspect the fastest CPU your old board will run is a 6400 X2 , which was a very fast cpu in its day.... you will have to find one second hand though as no longer sold...

Always update the bios before installing a new cpu.
Athlon IIX3 445 and Athlon IIX4 640 are decent upgrades.
