Dual channel ram + Triple channel ram on a triple channel motherboard

Last response: in Memory

My motherboard is Asus P6T and it has a triple channel memory slot, i initially have a kit of Triple channel Kingston HyperX 2GB (3 pieces - 2GB X 3 = 6GB) which is installed in 3 slots on my motherboard (there is 6 slots altogether on the motherboard) my question is, can I use a kit of Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 pieces - 4GB X 2 = 8GB) on the motherboard to add to the 6GB (2GB - 3 pieces) that I had, and run it together, that would mean it will be 14GB altogether. Is this possible? If yes, which slots should i insert into for the respective rams.
Please help thanks.

The memory modules (sticks) are suppose to be of equal size. This has to do with the way the BIOS accesses the memory channels and banks and rows with the memory modules. Because of this, you are not suppose to mix different sizes memory capacities. To be sure, check the motherboard manual for specific memory configurations that are allowed.
