I have an asus p5kpl-amps motherboard which has a intel pentium d processor 820 ..
It works on 1GB DDR2 ram..
I want to know to how much i can upgrade the memory, and what type of graphics card will be combatible with this configuration. Please suggest me a good graphic card (1gb?)

What resolution monitor do you have?
How much do you want to spend on a new graphics card?

Radeon HD 6670 1GB should be a good match with your budget, the 1366x768 resolution and your CPU.

What type of connectors does your TV have?
Will you need a low profile graphics card, or is the normal sized card OK for your case?

PCI Express 2.1 cards will work in your PCIe 1.1 ver motherboard.
Type of VRAM (DDR3) on video card makes no difference to your PC - it's only for the Video card's use.

How large is your power supply? A more powerful graphics card might need a PSU upgrade as well.

From another THG forum topic:
Will my Power Supply Unit support an HD 6670? with the same PSU.

It pretty much confirms what I had already suspected.
HD 6670 is about as powerful a card as I think your PSU can handle safely.

GT 520 quite a bit below the gaming performance level of the 6670.
