Browsing for a new case in PC world I saw a bundle that caught my eye:
Intel core i5 2500K with ASUS P8H67-M-LE priced at £229. I have an AMD phenom II 955 @3.7GHZ with a Gigabyte GA-880GMA-USB3 black socket and ATI 6870 no problems with games.

I was thinking of buying the bundle and dropping down to a HIS 5770 I've just purchased Battlefield 3 but at the moment my max resolution is 1440X900. Ive just replaced my coolermaster 330 with XIGAMTEK Midguard for £20 after my pc crashed bluescreened after 30 minutes of battlefield 3, artifacts black screen then BSOD. Computer seems fine know yesterday evening 4 hous idle + 1 hour in game. Will the intel bundle be more power efficient, I know I wont be able to OC it on that board and what I gain on the cpu I lose on the graphics card?

Thanks.

I know that you already know, but there really is no point in putting a i5 2500k on a P8H67 board, your better of getting the P8P67.

(I pressume you want micro ATX as the P8H67-M-LE is micro ATX)

You might aswell spend the extra £30 so you can overclock.

Seems an excellent deal, upgrade will most likely be after christmas now. Motherboard was brought a month before Bulldozer was released, I had a sound problem with original motherboard and I half heartedly went with the Gigabyte when I was weighing up sandybridge. I didn't want to spend on an AMD FX motherboard being unsure how bulldozer was going to do plus I have G-skill 1333MHZ 8GB RAM, would I still get a decent overclock from the i5? The phenom II seems to work hard at lower res.
I would be hoping to see the same sort of improvement when I borrowed an Intel e5200 and OCed it compared to my then amd 7750 about 3 years ago. (Crysis Warhead didn't lag at all at low res).

All good answers thank you, I have decided to use a 22" HDTV and the case seems to be keeping everything cool. Last night I checked temperatures and they have come down 15 to 20 degrees.
