I saw a thread a few weeks ago about this but I was left unsure.

Are two sticks of 128 meg faster than one stick of 256 meg? The main purpose is gaming. The last thread pointed towards 2*128 but this flies in the face of that which I have been told before.

it depends on if you can set the interleave to 4 on the single stick of ram.
most likely you can and 1 stick will be faster than 2.
if not well....

who is more foolish...
the fool, or the fool that takes his advice?

Two sticks of 128MB is slightly faster than one 256MB stick of the same brand. You will never even notice this small diference though. I suggest you just get good quality memory (Mushkin, Crucial) and not worry about getting 2 sticks vs. just one. I guarantee that a 256MB stick of Mushkin Rev.3 will be a lot faster than two 128MB generic sticks.
