Mouse input lag

Hi guys. I just did a system rebuild and upgraded to a Asus p8z77-vlk motherboard from a Nvidia 680i. Everything went pretty smoothly, but I am having terrible lag on my bluetooth mouse and keyboard. It worked fine on the previous build, and all circumstances (room setup, surface, etc) are exactly the same.

I also tested on a wireless mouse, and I can confirm that it works fine while the other mouse is acting sluggish or muddy. The mouse is a Microsoft 5000, and it connects through a removable dongle (which an Apple keyboard works though -- and I have some, but much less often, interference with that as well).

The mouse is maddening, as it goes from normal, to slightly irregular, to sluggish and unresponsive. I believe that something is causing interference with the signal related specifically to the new motherboard, but I am at a loss for how to troubleshoot or fix it. Anyone have any ideas?
