More about reformat replacing
  1. Usually a fresh install of windows will be required
  2. no, you dont ever need to reinstall for just a processor upgrade. i have over 100 examples in my life of this being true.

Generally you want to check if your mobo will support the new cpu.
Most of the time a bios update is required when upgrading a cpu.
If you already have the latest bios version you can skip that.
No! you do not need to re-install the O/S.
  5. Only when you are switching boards.
